Finance Officer

£26,000-£28,000 FTE, pending on experience.
24 hours over 4 days (no Friday) per week, with potential to increase to 28 hours over 4 days.
Home based, applicant must be based in the UK.

The position of Finance Officer is key to Gaia’s small team. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to work directly with the Head of Finance & HR, carrying out a wide range of financial and HR tasks and procedures. The role requires an exceptional person with at least 3 years of experience in a finance role, who loves figures and bookkeeping and wants to be part of our team.

The Finance Officer must be wholly committed to Gaia’s values and will administer a financial operation with integrity, clear and open communication, fairness and an understanding of the needs and interests of Gaia’s diverse team and community. This person will thrive in a demanding and team-oriented culture with the ability to work under pressure.

This position requires a self-motivated person who is accustomed to working from home. We are looking for a person with a logical, systematic approach to work, who is keen to use their skills to support others working on ecological, social and climate justice issues. As a small remote-working team we need someone who can cope with varying workloads, and who remains calm despite deadlines.

Familiarity with the remote-working systems we currently use (Microsoft Office 365, Zoom) will be essential.

The ideal candidate will be ready to start in a week commencing 15th September 2024. We offer a permanent part-time employment contract. The Finance Officer will report directly to the Head of Finance & HR.
